MSSQL2005 SP1 setup
I have an Evaluation version of Enterprise edition MSSQL2005 for development. I tried to install MSSQL2005 sp1 and it is necessary to upgrade to the release version of SQL2005. Currently, I just got the release CD on hand, how can I upgrade the evaluation version to release version except uninstalling the eval and install with the release edition? Thanks in advance
You can "Upgrade" from Eval to the release version by launching setup from the CD. Setup will find the existing eval instance inform you that you can upgrade the instance.

mssql2000
Hi
I am changing my server from mssq7 to sql2000
Do i need to upgrade my mssql7 databse to 2000.
or only i want to just attach db to 2000 server.
thanks.
Thanks
You can attach a 7 database to 2000. Another option is backup and restore. Just make sure you test
your applications...

MSSQL Server Taskbar Icon
I just upgraded Win2000 to SP4 from SP3. I have SQL2000
Server on the a DELL 2600 PowerEdge and it was working
wonderfully. After the upgrade the green arrow on the icon
in the taskbar is missing. When I double click on the
icon, the server name is present but no services to
start. I checked services in Administrator Tools and they
are present and started. I can connect to the MSSQL
Server in Enterprise Manager and Query Analyzer. I
stopped and restarted the services in Administrator Tools
with no luck and rebooted. Any ideas'?Just wondering if the SQL Service Manager has lost focus from your machine
and is looking at a machine that doesn't have SQL installed.
Open the SQL Service Manager, ensure the Server :- pull down list is focused
on the correct machine.
