Multi column

Hi,
I dont know how to word this but I'll try. I have a report that shows two
field in the output, i.e city and count. When the report is run it displays
about 44 rows on one page, but since there are only two fields the rest of
the page is left blank on the right hand side which can easily accomodate two
more column of same fields of city and count. For example it prints row 1
thru 44 on one page and 45 thru ... I would like it to print the 45 thru ...
on the right side of the page which is blank. I'm pretty sure this can be
done.
Please help!while in Layout tab in Report Designer, go to Report then Report Properties.
Click the Layout tab and play around with the number in Columns box.

Multi casting

Just a question about multi casting.

If I create a copy of a data set using a multi cast, do operations on one of the output sets effect the other output set?

For example, in one ouput set I'm setting a column to NULL - this is actually updating the other set as well. Is this meant to happen?

Thanks!!

No. If that's happening then its a bug. Can you post a repro?

MSSQL to Text File? how? thanks...

As we know, MySQL have function to output its data into Text File using "Select * into outfile 'C:/mytext.txt".

Does MSSQL has "Select into Outfile" function? If yes, what is the function??

Thanks in advance :)

Do you have access to the SQL Manager GUI? You can output to a file from that.

You can also useSQLCMD -i Input.sql -o C:\mytext.txt -e from the command prompt.

|||P.S. - I'm not positive, but I don't think you can do it directly from the SQL statement like you can in MySQL.|||

You can use supplied BCP application or SQL Server Management Studio Express.

Example for BCP:

c:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\90\Tools\Binn>bcp RZBWSPR.dbo.MenuItem out Result.txt -T -S DVESIC\SQLEXPRESS -c

|||You can call bcp utility with xp_cmdshell from T-SQL. Take a look at this post:
