Multi value parameter use in "IN" expression.

Hi
While writing my latest report i have been trying to use the result of a
multi value parameter as the value for a "IN" expression in my SQL query,
this does not seem to work, the multi value parameter shows that it has
values in it but the "IN" expression wont use them to filter the SQL query.
I have since found that the way i am using the Parameter in the SQL is
correct but i am now unsure of how the parameter should be set up.
Can anyone help?
Steve D'IN' should have multiple values seperated with a comma. I hope you know
that. So you need to use =join() to build the multi value parameters into
something like this (1,2,3,4) then pass this value into the query it should
work.

select somefield from sometable where anotherfield in (@.Param)
Where @.Param maps to a multi-value parameter. There is no need for anything
fancy unless passing the parameter to a stored procedure.

MSSRS 2000 Restarts Windows XP system after the latest update

Hi Microsoft Sql server reproting services restarts the windows xp installed
desktops when we try to print using the print oprion in the report.
This is happening for lot of my clients.
How to fix this. This is happening only after the latest update in March.
My company has aroung 40,000 people who will be using the reports generated
by the reporting services most of them have windows xp with autometic update
switched on. Hence once the update happnes when they want to take a print out
of a report which shown using the MSSRS 2000 in internet explorere and
clicked onthe print icon in the report window system gets restarted.
Please help
Thanking you
SureshSuresh,
The first time you click the print icon a ActiveX control is installed. You
must have some sort of common desktop configuration that is blowing up when
you try to install this ActiveX.
First thing I would do is look at IE's security settings surrounding the
ActiveX downloading/installing.

But the issue is not with installing the active x.
In many systems the active x was installed long before.
It was working fine until recently a windws xp update was released.
After the update only when clicked on the print icon in the report displayed
in desktops the systems get restarted.
So this should be a bug introduced due to the recent update by Microsft
update for windows Xp. I am looking for a patch for this.

Your clustered index on database conrevhb2 has problems with it. Take a
look at the BOL for DBCC CHECKDB command. There are some repair options.
If that doesn't work, you may need to drop and recreate your clustered
index. (Keep in mind that it may be your Primary key constraint as well, as
this automatically creates a clustered index by default.).

Thanks for the reply but, I am not a database admin so I know I can do a
google search and see what you are suggesting but is this correct for a
database using the MSDE engineon a Win2K Pro machine?

If you don't have Query Analzer, you may try to use osql and do this work
from the command line.

|||Rick,
Thanks for the reply but, I am not a database admin so I know I can do a
google search and see what you are suggesting but is this correct for a
database using the MSDE engineon a Win2K Pro machine?
TIA

|||MSDE uses the same DLLs that SQL Server uses. It has certain built-in
limitations on how it operates, but this is essentially what needs to be
fixed.
If you don't have Query Analzer, you may try to use osql and do this work
from the command line.
